Dolores Hambardzumyan, Ph.D., MBA, is a neuroscientist focusing on neuro-oncology. Her primary scientific interest is the brain tumor microenvironment’s role in tumor progression and response to therapy. f Her laboratory has developed methods for immune profiling of brain tumors, including developing novel markers to distinguish and lineage-trace various populations of myeloid cells, including monocytes, monocyte-derived macrophages, neutrophils, and resident brain microglia. Her laboratory research has demonstrated that glioblastoma-specific genetic driver mutations can define the composition and function of the tumor microenvironment and can modify tumor response to therapy. She is particularly interested in developing novel combinatory therapies for treating glioblastoma by targeting neoplastic and non-neoplastic compartments of pediatric and adult brain tumors.
